Strawberries are my favorite fruit. I loved picking strawberries from our patch when I was a young girl.

My dog, Rusty, loved them, too! She'd be right along side me in the patch eating strawberries right off the plant!

My mom made fried apple pies a lot. I don't know why it never occurred to us to substitute strawberries!
