The Best Laid Plans...

I should have learned by now, never to make plans, at least online.
My blogging marathon didn't happen,
my blogging once or twice a week with guests didn't continue (though I hope to do better this year),
my blogging about the sights and scenes in my community didn't happen,

making lots of snow folk before Christmas didn't happen,
making dolls and silk ribbon pillows and assemblage jewelry before Christmas didn't happen,
updating the Soldier unknown and the Simple Joys blogs didn't happen...
and the list goes on... sigh...

So...
for 2011, I will do what I can, and blog when I can, and create when I can, and take life as it comes.
There are only so many hours in a day, so many days in a week, and only one me.
I love creating, designing, and sharing things with online friends,
but I also love being with family and friends here at home.

If I have time ;) I will have new items made for Simple Joys Paperie and Honeysuckle Lane somewhere between January 15th and the 22nd. For now, you may see a few new fleur de lis vintage book wreaths in my Simple Joys Paperie Etsy shop.
{ I had to edit this one a bit ~ I have some news to share with you in the next blog post! :) }

Last night, I added more items to my HL Shop blog. These are things I no longer use at home, vintage items, home decor items, Christmas ornaments, and old shop inventory. When you have time, click this link to browse around a while. If you know someone that would be interested in something, feel free to share the link with them.

Thanks for checking in ~ I hope to get back in the swing of things very soon! :)

Take Care and God Bless,
Lana

  2. Lana, I know you only have so many hours in the day, so if you blog less it's ok. You have to take care of what's important. Hope you have a great week, T

  3. I love your new goals! That's what I intend to do to. We have to make time for the most important things. For me that is family and friends first, even though I love blogging! I will just enjoy it when you are able to be here! Blessings!

  4. I know JUST how you feel - making promises in a blog is the surest way to fail sometimes. I've decided to do the same - just do what you can and don't promise anything more than that. BTW - I have a 2ooth post and giveaway on my blog if you are interested. Better luck in 2011!!

  6. It's all about balance is it. sweet Lana? I think to be a long time blogger, we have to take it easy and slow. I know for me, I experience burn out when I do too much of anything too often. I don't want to burn out on blogging, so I have slowed the pace a lot.
Boy, I hope I don't burn out on gardening!lol! It's the only exercise I get.
    hugs to you...

  7. Sigh, I'm the same way. My resolution is to stop beating myself up for not doing all that I plan. I hope to see my goals as "goals", and not as do-or-die obligations.

    Have a great week!

  9. Hi Lana,

I just became follower #336. I've seen your work in Early American Life and now I'm a fan of your blog too. I'm also quite relieved that I'm not the only one with a list of stuff that didn't get done last year. LOL.

  10. Hi Lana,
I just bought the Feb. Romantic Homes and there you are on page 61. Wow, you're famous! It didn't mention your blog, though. I thought I'd get a lot done since we've been snowed in - NOT! Just wanted to curl up on the sofa in front of the fireplace and watch TV. I had several friends who said the same thing. Glad we don't live where it snows all winter! LOL Hugs, Karen
