Hello, March…

It’s Sunday, and I stayed home from church. I didn’t feel like getting out and I didn’t want to spread the flu if I’m still contagious. I’ve had the flu for a week now. As I get older, each time I get sick, I think - I don’t remember it being this bad. Two doctor visits, shots, meds, and rest, and all I finally feel like doing is to sit on the porch in the sun.

But it sure is nice out on the porch. I don’t slow down and just enjoy being in the moment like I used to. I mean, I am slower in a lot of things, but it seems like it takes me so long to do them, I have no time for doing nothing.

It’s quiet, but still lots of activity… sounds in the background…

Crows cawing, bees buzzing, frogs calling, a rooster crowing down the road, a plane flying over, the wind blowing through the trees, squirrels chattering away…

I see the tuft of a bright yellow dandelion in the brown grass a few feet from where I’m sitting. We may still see a snow or two, but spring isn’t far away.

What a beautiful day…

I have a few favorites, and this is lovely piece is at the top of the list.
I had been saving this antique blue velvet presentation case for myself.
But along came a sweet antique item that was perfect for a love token…

And the love token was perfect for this case…

Set your clocks for 7 central tonight…
