Cori Dantini Nursery Decor
Our first grand-baby is due in just over a month! Poppy (Roger) is finishing up the baby bed and Saturday morning I finished up a little quilt and two framed prints just in time for the baby shower.
I have loved Cori Dantini's art since I saw it online a few years ago. It's sweet, fun, whimsical, innocent... perfect for a nursery!
I found coordinating fabrics featuring Cori's art at Hawthorne Threads (manufactured by Blend Fabrics) and since I was waiting till the last minute to make something for the baby shower, I opted for the fabric that looked like pieced squares and made a hand-tied, whole cloth quilt!
I pieced a couple of coordinating prints (also Cori's art) for the back... a sweet acorn print and a purple dot print...
and I used her pretty, pink scallop print for the binding.
And of course, I had to order a couple of Cori's adorable owl prints to go with the quilt! These are 8" x 8" prints that I placed on pink scrapbook paper and framed in 12" x 12" frames from Joann.com. The frames are actually float frames but I decided to add the scrapbook paper instead of letting the wall color show through.
The last thing I did was add a hand-written label with a little flower and owl scribbled in the corners. I used a Sakura Pigma Micron Pen and heat set it with an iron. Even after washing in warm water it didn't fade or bleed. Whew!
Now we just have to wait patiently for that little bundle of joy to arrive. :)
Have a blessed day!
