Folk Art Frolics!

We have had such lovely weather this past week (not counting the rain yesterday and today) and I really, really needed some sunshine! I've had the doors and windows open and have enjoyed listening to the birds and frogs. I'm now ending week 2 of this flu / respiratory illness and am ready for it to be over and done with! After week 1 of the flu, I finally started feeling like creating and I must have been ready for some color! I have been painting like crazy and using lots of fun, whimsical, citrusy colors in my artwork. Some of the frames used are vintage and antique, too!

I've also been inspired by so many design elements from the 18th and 19th centuries: flowers and baskets found in fraktur artwork, deer, squirrels, and stylized landscapes found in crewel needlework, stripes of the hit and miss hooked rugs and tongues and pennies of penny rugs. I hope you enjoy how I interpreted all of it!

Please come visit the Artwork page at Honeysuckle Lane when you have time and let me know what you think about the new watercolors.

I'll be doing a giveaway on my blog beginning tonight around 8pm. Check back then for details on the prize. You may enter by commenting on this giveaway blog post titled Springtime Giveaway, or if you'd rather, just email me and ask for your name to be added to the entries and I'll add it in the comments.

Have a lovely Sunday!
