Autumnal Artwork

Last night I finished a piece I was working on for Simply Primitives.
I was using pastel chalks and charcoal sticks and I just couldn't get anything to look right,
or at least it wasn't looking the way I had imagined.

However, I happened to think of a canvas that I had textured and crackled months ago and set aside unfinished. So I applied the artwork to the canvas, added some paper elements (of course!), and then aged everything even further with antiquing stain. The colors remind me of autumn, but with a sepia overlay, if that makes sense.

I am very pleased with the results and will reveal the entire piece on the evening of the 14th when the ladies at Simply Primitives update the online market.

  1. Love the sepia tones. Just lovely.

  2. From what you showed us, it will be another masterpiece!

  3. wow. that is so lovely and delicate.
    your intricate handwork is pretty

  4. If all my "mistakes" turned out this lovely, I'd be thrilled! This is beautiful Lana!
