Cautiously Excited...
I am so excited! I am going to get a new (to me) JUKI TL-2000QI sewing machine in a couple of days! I have been using a Pfaff Hobby 750 for... oh.... more than 10 years and maybe more like 15! I'll have to find my purchase receipt to know exactly how long I've had it.
I have wanted a Juki for quite some time after reading blogs of quilters who love their machine. It was always out of my price range, but after patiently watching online classifieds sites, I finally found a Juki that is nearly new, semi-local, and in my price range!
I'll keep my little Pfaff...
...just in case I need to do a few buttonholes or very simple decorative stitches, although I haven't used those more than half a dozen times in the past several years. If I'm not doing hand-stitching, I'm doing straight-stitching and that's what this Juki sewing machine is for.
Once I get my Juki set up and get acquainted with how it works, I plan on getting back to making quilts! I have 3 more to make for family, and I plan on making linen quilts to list in my Honeysuckle Lane shop. Below are some of the colors I have in stock for the linen quilts.
I'll let you know how it goes once I get it settled in. I am excited, but I do know it may take some time get used to it. So that's why I am cautiously excited... for now. :)
Do any of you have a Juki? I'd love to hear what you like / don't like about it!
Take care,
Lana

My Sister's Quilts
My sister works at school, so when school was out for the summer, she took advantage of the time she had and made several quilts.
She had me machine quilt the one below...
and she liked it so much she bought an even feed foot for her machine and started machine quilting the rest of her quilts! I think she's hooked! ;)
It seemed as if every few days she was sending me more photos of yet another design!
She's back to school this week, so I guess she'll be slowing down, but I'll share more of her quilts as she gets them done and sends me photos.

As for me, I have all my linen fabrics washed and dried. Now I have to decide which colors to combine for my whole cloth linen quilts. I'll be back in a few days with more on those, too!
Have a blessed day,

What Have I Been Doing?

What have I been doing? Well, not much gardening and canning, that's for sure. Our garden did not do well at all this year. I managed to can some green beans, cabbage, and blackberry jam and syrup. Some combination, huh? We have picked one ripe tomato so far... we are way behind!
There's not a lot of gardening going on, but as you see in the photo above, I am planning ahead for my online shop. I have several gorgeous yards of linen washed and ready to cut and sew into baby quilts, lap quilts, and more! I hope to begin listing them at Honeysuckle Lane by mid to late August.
I'll be back in a day or two with photos of what my sister has been working on this summer... lots of quilts!
See you soon!

Remains of the Day - after the Lavender Festival
Hi everyone!
The Lavender Festival is over and I have listed several of the Remains of the Day items as I do each year afterwards. I was going to list several other items, but they either sold out or are going to a shop soon. These are the only new paintings on canvas that are left. I have shown three here to give you an idea of what you'll find.
We had gorgeous weather! It was a bit warm later in the afternoon, but a breeze nearly all day made it bearable. Thank you so much to those of you that came to see me. I always enjoy visiting with you! :)
I would love to share photos, but we forgot the camera. So I have no photos at all of my booth. Oh well, maybe next year!
The new paintings are listed in my Honeysuckle Lane Big Cartel shop. No need to email me unless you have a question. Just add items to your cart and purchase... and shipping is a flat $6 no matter how much you order!
Have a wonderful week!
Take care & God bless,
Lana

Getting Ready for the Lavender Festival
The Lavender Festival is only a week away! I have been busy getting things ready... matting original watercolors (shown above) and painting some new little lavender art (see below).
Since it's a festival all about lavender , I figured I'd focus on... what else... lavender! Believe it or not, in the past I didn't have very many lavender themed items at the festival.
But this time I'll have acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings, fine art prints, hand block printed note cards, and sachets.... all with LAVENDER on them! :)
I will have other handmade items that don't have a thing to do with lavender, just in case the shoppers are looking for something else.
If you are near Oak Ridge, TN on June 18th, come by and see me at The Lavender Festival!
Have a blessed weekend,
Lana
