Thank You Offer
I'll make this a fairly short and sweet blog post...
I've been busy and didn't have time to make any extra handwork to offer in time for Black Friday shopping.
So, I have created a 20% off coupon code for you to use in my Honeysuckle Lane Etsy shop.
Here's the code: THANKS2015.
Just apply it during checkout to get 20% off all items in the shop! This expires in another day or so.
I am determined to have at least one collection to offer before Christmas. I'll let you know when it's ready. :)
Blessings,
Lana

Expectant Grandparents & Future Heirlooms
Remember when I announced Roger and I will be 1st time grandparents in a few months? The baby is due near the end of January. Roger had his second carpal tunnel surgery scheduled some time back so his hand could heal in time to work on a baby bed.
Here are the makings of a fine heirloom... completely hand-crafted, no plans, just a couple of photos we found online to serve as inspiration. It's made from cherry and will convert from a baby bed to a full size bed (eventually). Now for the sanding, staining, sealing, and assembly!
I'll share more photos as it progresses. I can hardly wait to see it finished!
Take care and God bless,
Lana

My Excuse for My Collections: William Morris
William Morris said,
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
I rest my case. :)
Have a blessed day,

Back Yard Visit: Black Squirrels & Deer
I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the wildlife we have in the back yard and the woods just behind our house.
It seems we have more than one black squirrel. One of them has a white patch on its side but I have yet to capture it on camera!
Over the months we had several photos of expectant mothers on our trail cameras, and then very late spring the babies started to appear!
There's that black squirrel again... between the deer (below).
Thanks for stopping by!
God bless,
Lana

What Was Supposed to Be Whimsy Wednesday ~ Star Pincushion
Missed it again! I can blame it partly on having a horrible migraine for several days that still won't go away and the fact that I've been to pay respects at the funeral home three times in a week... a fourth time if you go back a couple of weeks. I hope to get back on track by Monday.
For what was supposed to be Whimsy Wednesday, I made another pincushion for those of you who need one... or collect them! This matches the Lavender Ticking Puzzle Ball Pin cushion and the Lavender Ticking Triangle Pincushion that I made last month for my Early Work Mercantile page. This is based on a couple of antiques I have in my collection.
This is completely hand-stitched by me. I used vintage ticking, vintage bark cloth, and recycled wool. I stuffed each section with 100% wool scraps and topped it off with a vintage button from my collection.
It's about 4" tall x 8" across.
$55 (plus shipping)
Email me to purchase.
I have more custom orders to work on, but in between letting glued pieces dry (these are paper whimsy orders), I am sure I will still be doing handwork... pincushions (new styles based on my antiques), penny rugs, and more!
Thanks for stopping by again!
God bless,
Lana

Punching Along...
Update: I no longer sell on folk art co-ops. If interested in a piece, please email me for availability.
I finished a few more pieces for the Early Work Mercantile update. The theme was A Log Cabin Christmas so I designed a leaning feather tree, a log cabin block, mistletoe, and a cabin in the woods. I used Valdani perle cotton and worked these under an OttLite lamp. It makes such a difference!
Leaning Feather Tree, sold - thank you! |
Log Cabin Block still available |
Mistletoe still available |
Cabin in the Woods, sold ~ thank you! |
I have one punch needle piece remaining from the previous Whimsy Wednesday offerings. It's called Fraktur Bouquet. It may be purchased directly from me or my Etsy shop.
I may get a few more pieces done, just maybe, but soon I will be working on another large order of paper whimsies for a shop in California, and for my own webshow just before Thanksgiving.
It seems like once fall gets here, time really flies!
Have a blessed day,
Lana
