Art, Handmade, and Nature

Sometimes my handmade items seem a mish-mash of things. But to prove that sometimes there is a method to my madness, or at least a serendipitous outcome, I’ve compiled a dozen collages of my handmade quilts (or a tufted cushion as in top photo), paintings, and photos I’ve taken nearby.

As for the art and quilts, some have been sold, and the rest are listed in my Honeysuckle Lane Etsy shop. Who knows? You may find just the thing for your home!

Happy hunting!

Remains of the Day

Hi friends,

The festival is over and the dust… er, pollen… has settled, and I am listing all remaining items in my etsy shop this week. So far, all 6x6 pieces have been listed and the larger matted 11x14 paintings on paper will follow in a day or two. If you just can’t wait, email me for photos. 🙋🏻‍♀️📸

Shop here: Honeysuckle Lane.
If you don’t do etsy, email me your list and I’ll invoice you via PayPal.

Have a lovely day!

Take care and God bless,
Lana

P.S. Each order placed with me this year will get you an entry in a drawing for $100 credit. The drawing will be held in December.

Lolly-gagging in Lavender

I’m not sure if this is one of my favorite because of the title or the painting! I am loving this style of painting and I think I like painting on paper better than canvas… there’s just an entirely different texture and feel as the paint glides across the watercolor paper.

I purchased double mats, backing boards, and show bags from Matboard and More, so all of my original paintings on paper are ready for the Lavender Festival.

If you are in the Oak Ridge, TN area on the 18th, come see me!

Once the festival is over Saturday, I will begin listing items in my Honeysuckle Lane Etsy shop next week.

Take care and God bless,

Lana

Lavender Festival on June 18th

I've had to put quilt making on hold while I get ready for the Lavender Festival. It's June 18th in Oak Ridge, TN. It was cancelled the last two years due to covid, so I'm hoping this year will be a great one with everyone excited to get back to see all the vendors.

I'm working on mostly 6x6 paintings, with a few slightly larger pieces.

I'm also doing some paintings on watercolor paper. These will be matted and ready to frame.

And I hoped to have prints to offer, but I am having a hard time getting the colors right on the prints. The scans look great... just like the original painting. But when I print, the colors are dark and dull, even the wrong colors. The first year I did prints, they were exactly as they should be. For the life of me, I can't figure out what's changed.

I just have next week left to paint, and that's really pushing it. I need time for the paintings to dry, add a sealer, then let the sealer dry... all before the 18th!
