Pumpkin Papercuttings

September is here and I am snipping away! For some reason, I always have a stronger urge to do papercuttings in the fall.

Some of the framed pieces are in my Honeysuckle Lane Etsy shop,

and some of them were just listed on my Early Work Mercantile page tonight!

Tomorrow is the first day of 30 Paintings in 30 Days with Leslie Saeta.. I'll be posting new paintings daily on my art blog.

Thanks for visiting!

God bless,
Lana

Updated - Pumpkin Music Box & Pumpkin Pie Soap Giveaway!

Update: Giveaway is now closed... thanks for the comments!
I used a random number generator to choose the winner. Number 1 being the first comment and number 13 being the last one....
and number 12 was chosen!

Congratulations, poetryinleaves! I looked at your profile and have no way of contacting you. If anyone knows poetryinleaves, please have her contact me or I will have to pick another winner after a few days.

Thanks for playing along! :)

----------

While shopping with one of my sisters this week, I found a pretty little pumpkin music box with pumpkin pie scented soap inside. I wish I had gotten one for myself, but wasn't thinking that far ahead at the time. What I was thinking was that it would make a sweet giveaway item just in time for fall!

The song that plays is Fur Elise... a music box favorite!

You can enter this giveaway (U.S. only, please) by

1. leaving a comment.

But if you'd like a couple more chances, you can do one or two more things:

2. Visit my Etsy shop and come back and tell me in a comment which pumpkin you prefer. You can find the item number at the end of the item description (ex: P#20) or include the item link or title... I'm not picky. :)
I have been working on vintage velvet pumpkins, trying to get them finished so I can move on to my glass glittered pumpkins, autumn inspired paper-cuttings, and the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge in September,
so I now have over 3 dozen listed.

3. Share this giveaway on any of your social media venues.
Leave a link to your shared post in the comments.

The giveaway is a short one and ends Sunday night. I'll email the winner for their mailing address afterwards.

Those of you that entered my newsletter giveaway last week should be receiving their note card sets in the next few days.

Thanks so much! :)

Take care and God bless,
Lana

Thrift Store Coffee Table & Velvet Pumpkins

In my last post I mentioned pumpkins would have to wait. That was not the case today. I already had several stuffed and sculpted, waiting on leaves and stems. So while I had tomatoes simmering on the stove and jars of tomato juice in the canner, I sat at the dining table and added the finishing touches to a few pumpkins.

And then I placed them in an old ironstone compote bowl and placed that on a thrift store coffee table I bought yesterday... for $10!!!

I LOVE the aqua color in contrast to the pumpkins! What do you think?

I only have the lighter pumpkins photographed and listed. I'll take photos of the darker orange ones Monday.

Oh, and I hope to get a quilt finished next week, too! Yes, I am that far behind in quilt-making. :)

Blessings,
Lana

The Glass Glittered & Velvet Pumpkins Will Have to Wait...

The garden continues to produce,

and I continue to can...

making tomato juice with the vintage food mill my Mom gave to me several years ago when I started canning.

And I've been enjoying tomato and mayo sandwiches throughout the summer.

The huge tomatoes are raised by my brother-in-law who has kept these tomatoes going from seed passed down from his dad. I remember them from when I was a kid, so I know my brother-in-law has grown them for more than 40 years, and his dad years before that.

For those of you that have written to me, asking about the velvet and glass glittered pumpkins....
hold on just a little longer. Canning season will be slowing down soon. :)

When I do have them ready, they may be found at Honeysuckle Lane.

Blessings!
