May Day Baskets & some sweet surprises...

I love making paper whimsies of all sorts. For the past few years, I have made these paper baskets in the manner described by the Beard sisters in the 1880s ~ from the scalloped papers to the hand sewn sides and the ribbon handles. Please visit my website to see the paper baskets I finished up yesterday.

I'm also working on more of my May Dew Gathering Baskets, also based on a 19th century paper basket design, but with my original twist of adding the miniature apothecary jar, shredded paper, and labels.

I recently received some wonderful hand made items from a fellow blogger and a fellow Etsy seller. It's rainy right now and I can't get good pics, but I will share them with you tomorrow. Be sure to come back and see their wonderful creations!

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely Sunday!

A Little Bit of Whimsy & Inspiration

I've been working like crazy this past week, trying to get things made that are in my mind, before I have to move on to something else. The Lavender Festival is in June, and very soon I need to begin working on silk ribbon embroidered items for that show. I guess I should have already started on them, but there's just so many things I still want to work on.
Three online markets that I belong to have updated their 15th of the month pages. They are Simply Primitives, The Primitive Gathering, and TDIPT Mercantile. You may find the links in the sidebar under Honeysuckle Lane Wares Are Sold Here. I have updated my website with new offerings as well, and all of my offerings from the markets are listed there for convenience.
A few more hares hopped onto the Whimsies page of my website,
19th century cloth litho rabbits
some little girls and their dollies embellished a large "I Love My Dolly" mixed media collage:

copies of antique photographs in my collection found their way onto a couple of inspirational collages:

and sparrows and owls and feathers graced soft ivory & sepia inspirational collages:

If these sneak peeks have piqued your interest, come on over to Honeysuckle Lane to read about them and to see more photos.

For the rest of the week, I am working on MAY BASKETS and plan on having them ready for purchase on the 18th.
Thanks so much for checking in. I will take a break from work soon and will try to have more stories and photos of life here on the Cumberland Plateau.
Take Care & God Bless!
