Here birdie, birdie...

Sam, the outdoor barn cat, recently "got fixed". After staying indoors to recouperate, he decided he'd rather be an indoor cat with outdoor visits once in a while. I have a soft spot in my heart for Sam ~ my Mom gave him to me a few years before she passed away, and he's such a sweetie to boot! Do you see the tag h got while at the vet? One of my favorite colors! Sam wanted out to sit in the sun a while, and he just happened to pick a spot under one of the bird feeders. He looks so innocent... all soft and furry and sweet... oh wait! I think he hears something!
Hmmm, I don't think THIS is the sort of bird he was waiting for...
I think we should change Tweedle Dum's name to Destruction. After he scared Sam and ate the bird seed, he knocked the little terra cotta water dish off the ledge and it broke!
Off he goes!

I think Sam has decided to be a mouse catcher ~ mice are much smaller!

Our neighbors..two of them..have cats that roam
    and end up here.
One has TWO Maine Coon cats.

No wonder the turkeys stay away now.

  6. Lana, I love reading your blog, and especially seeing pics of all your animals. Tweedledum cracks me up. Is he tough, or an old softly, like I think he is? We saw wild turkeys in South Dakota, and they are really cool creatures.

  7. Several have commented or emailed me to ask about Sam. He is a Maine Coon mix. I'd love to find another Maine Coon kitten to keep him company! Even a mix would be fine.

  10. Hello dear Lana. It has been way too long since we have visited one another. I know you are still making lovely things. Louise showed me the necklace she bought from you and I thought it was just charming. Sam is a gorgeous cat and I understand why he is so special to you, being from your dear mother. Stop by for a visit and read about my visit with Louise. Remember me to everyone at ECP.
    Take good care.
